Mountains, Glaciers and Beautiful Beaches
New Zealand is one of the more remote spots in the world, so much that it was one of the last lands to be settled by humans. New Zealand's interesting history allows for a unique mix of plant and animal life. In addition to its diverse wildlife, New Zealand is known for its friendly people, laid back attitude, and gorgeous landscapes. Other highlights of this destination include things exclusive to New Zealand, such as Fjordland with its breathtaking views, and Northland with its fantastic climate. Another favorite activity in New Zealand is walking or hiking through its lush forests, like the one located at Te Urewera National Park. Beautiful Waterfalls, serene lakes, and tall trees make for a hike you are sure to never forget.
An Exotic Land and Climate
What really separates New Zealand from other exotic destinations are its friendly people, who go out of their way to help make your trip more enjoyable, wanting you to see the beauty that they see in New Zealand. The locals even refer to New Zealand as "Godzone" (God's own country) because they know how fortunate they are to live there.
New Zealand has quite the variable climate. While snow is quite uncommon, the winter months of June to August can be very wet and windy. December through February, the summer months, tend to be hot and humid. While visiting make sure to dress casual but smart. All vacationers should ensure that they have packed a rain coat, a pair or two of walking shoes, and a compact umbrella for the random occasional downpour. It goes unsaid that a camera is a must for this area of the world.
